Description
Acrylic based curing compound Uses
As a spray applied membrane for interior application on renders or concrete surfaces. Particularly suitable for situations where after trades, such as paints or renders, are to be applied.
Advantages
- Improved curing of concrete, enhances cement hydration and provides a more durable concrete
- Control of moisture loss improves surface quality, reducing permeability, producing a hard wearing, dust
free surface and minimizing potential for surface cracking and shrinkage
- Compatible with many after-trade applications
- Easy application reduces labour costs
Description
Concure AB is an acrylic resin based curing compound. When first applied to a fresh cementitious surface the product forms a continuous non-penetrating coating. This coating dries to form a continuous film which provides a barrier to moisture loss ensuring more efficient cement hydration, improved durability and reduced shrinkage.
Technical support
Fosroc offers a comprehensive technical support service to specifiers, end users and contractors. It is also able to offer on-site technical assistance, an AutoCAD facility and dedicated specification assistance in locations all over the world.
Instructions for use
Application to fresh concrete
Concure AB should be spray applied to the surface of fresh concrete. Application should be made approximately 30 minutes after evaporation has left the concrete free from water. The spray nozzle should be held approximately 450 mm from the concrete surface and passed back and forth to ensure complete coverage. Pump pressure should be maintained to give an even, fine spray.
After application, no further application of water or other material is necessary to ensure continued curing. The concrete surface should not be disturbed until it has sufficient strength to bear surface loads. The applied film should not be walked on before it is fully dry and care should be taken to ensure that the film is not broken.
If spray equipment is not available, Concure AB can be applied with a soft brush, broom or wide roller. Application in this manner should only be made once the concrete has hardened sufficiently to not be damaged during application.
Application to hardened concrete
Concure AB may also be applied to the surface of newly hardened concrete immediately after demoulding. Surfaces should be free of stains, oils or form coating, which may otherwise prevent adhesion of Concure AB to the concrete.
Coverage rate
The recommended coverage rate for Concure AB is between 4.0 and 6.0 m2/litre (0.25 to 0.16 litre/m2). Coverage rates outside this recommended range might be used if necessary and suitable to meet specific requirements. Contact the Fosroc Technical Service Department for advice in such cases.
Equipment
Spray equipment producing a fine mist may be used for Concure AB, such as knapsack or motorized sprayers. The suitability of equipment should be ensured by an application trial.
Equipment cleaning
Spray equipment should be cleaned immediately after use by flushing through with white spirit.
Overcoating and after-trades
Concure AB is compatible with many after-trades. Contact the Fosroc Technical Service Department for advice in specific cases. In all cases it is recommended that small trial areas are used to ensure that the desired properties are obtained. Before overcoating, ensure that the Concure AB surface is completely free of stains, oils and other materials that may interfere with the adhesion of the after- trade.
Limitations
Specification for high efficiency cyring membranes can be met use Concure AB, Concure 90 and Concure WB*.

Storage
Concure AB has a shelf life of 12 months minimum if kept in a dry store between 4ºC and 35ºC in the original, unopened containers. Freezing or prolonged exposure to direct heat or direct sunlight must also be avoided. Storage outside these guidelines may impair shelf life. Do not use if evaporated, thickened or discolored.
Precautions
Health & safety
Concure AB should not be swallowed or allowed to come into contact with skin and eyes. Avoid inhalation of vapours and ensure adequate ventilation. Suitable protective gloves and goggles should be worn.
Some people are sensitive to resins and solvents. Barrier creams such as Kerodex Antisolvent or Rozalex Antipaint provide additional skin protection. Should accidental skin contact occur remove immediately with a resin removing cream such as Kerocleanse Standard Grade Skin Cleanser or Rozaklens Industrial Skin Cleanser, followed by washing with soap and water – do not use solvent. In case of contact with eyes rinse immediately with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice. If swallowed seek medical attention immediately – do not induce vomiting.
For further information consult the Safety Data Sheet available for this product.
Fire
Concure AB is flammable. Do not expose to naked flames or other sources of ignition.
