Nitomortar TS is a three-component epoxy-resin based engineering mortar formulated to be used along with different types of bridge deck expansion joint systems where it is designed to form the transition strip between bridge decks and expansion joints.

Description

Nitomortar TS is a three-component epoxy-tar based engineering mortar formulated to possess good workability and can be casted or trowelled to a fine, accurate surface.

Properties                                                          

Application instructions

Thoroughly power-mix Base and Hardener in plastic pail and add in fillers.

Continue power-mixing until all fillers are uniformly mixed with binder to form a homogeneous mortar consistency.

Do not add water or solvent to the mix. Nitomortar TS must not be over mixed as this will reduce working life.

All joints should be clean and free from loose particles.

Where maximum adhesion is required, mechanical cleaning is necessary to remove surface laitance, etc.

Immediately after mixing apply Nitomortar TS within its pot life.

Do not mix new material with already mixed one. Single application thickness should be between 30 mm to 150 mm and 15 m long.

Cleaning

Nitomortar TS should be removed whilst uncured using Fosroc Solvent 102.

Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.

Nitomortar TS is supplied in 25 Kg packs containing Part A and Part B in separate tins and separate bag for filler.

Precautions

Health and safety

Nitomortar TS contains epoxy resin and coal tar which may cause skin sensitization in certain individuals.

Skin contact should be avoided and a suitable barrier cream applied or disposable rubber or plastic gloves worn.

Also use eye/face protection. If contact with skin occurs, it must be removed before it hardens followed by washing with soap and water.

In case of contact with eyes rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical treatment immediately.

Fire

Nitomortar TS is flammable. Do not smoke during use. Do not use near a naked flame.

Storage

Shelf life is 12 months in original containers stored in cool dry conditions not exceeding 25°C. Storage at higher temperatures may reduce storage life.
